Account verification is the process of confirming a person's real identity using official documents, such as a government-issued ID, utility bills showing your address, or other supporting documentation. This process is carried out with the highest level of security and respect for each member’s data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and does not affect any public identifiers like your username.
Why is Verification Necessary?
According to the legal framework set by the Hellenic Gaming Commission (EEEP), every account on platforms offering betting services must be verified. This is required to protect users and prevent fraudulent activity. This regulation also aligns with the European Directive (EU) 2015/849, which aims to prevent illegal activity such as money laundering (AML) and the financing of criminal operations.
Why is Payment Method Verification Also Required?
Alongside account verification, verification of the payment methods used for deposits and withdrawals is also mandatory under the same regulatory framework. This ensures that the payment method belongs to the account holder, providing full transparency and secure transactions.
